I have owned many ventriloquist figures,I have some with face expression movements such winking one eye or blinking both eyes at the same time,also having eye movement that looked upward towards the sky.I wrote a comedy club skit for one of my professional size ventriloquist figure that could close both eyes for sleeping.so I write a word on a note book paper, I hold paper up for the audience to see word and to say it out loud on the count of three,the ventriloquist figure is asleep with eyes closed and snoring of course I am talking and doing the snoring effect at the same time,I take out a old dirty smelly sock to try to awake UP the ventriloquist figure by putting the sock up to the ventriloquists figure nose but the smelly sock did not work, ventriloquist figure still sleeping and snoring,so now I hold up the note of paper with the word on it,I count to three and the audience shout the word out loud,the ventriloquist figure eyes opening fast,he spring up to life looking around,I wi...

In high school I was a member of a mailing list book club,so you ask what the hell is that? a member of a mailing list book club is for book nerds,members get a catalog of books for discount prices. in those days books were like the internet mobile tablets today.I bought many books to use for my storytelling show with sammy.it was a promotional event,this event lead me to many many many birthday party gigs.I share this information with you because it's a business tactic I no longer use because I am retired from live stage performances.I will continue on the subject, being a book club member supplied me with lots of material. ON the study of mimicry in high school it helped me a lot when rehearsing with sammy.mimicry is mostly a art form used by early musical theater,to mimic is to imitate or copy what a person say or do.a parrot mimic a human's voice or words.I also study the art of pantomime,which is some what like the art of mimicry. The mime clown that perform with out speech is based on the art of pantomime.in my rehearsal of mimicry I would sit in front of the television with sammy,the television sound would be completely down,I would have sammy do movement of the person on television screen,for an example,if a person on the television screen shake her head yes,I would have sammy copy her movement,if a person on screen was laughing,sammy would copy the movement.after a few minutes of television mimicry,I would write a skit using all the movements that I mimic from the television.just for practice,I would practice the skit on video,to watch it over and over and practice mimicry over and over until ...

One night me and sammy were performing on stage at a famous comedy club.in the front row of the stage was a wide eyes young man,he was amazed at seeing Vann duke and sammy and waited inpatient to see vann duke and sammy live on stage.my act this night was Sammy would do a hip hop rap song while I drink from a cup,on stage sitting next to me on a portable table is a water bottle and cup,I poured the water from the water bottle into the cup,picking up the cup sammy begin his hip hop rap song,I take the cup of water and drink it slowly while sammy is doing his rap song,I then take the cup from my mouth and turn the cup upside down to show the audience that the cup is empty.when I walk off stage the young man approaches me and sammy with  joy and wondering,he was wondering if the water went into the cup,yes I told him....he wanted to know how was the trick done but knew it was not nice and respectful to ask....in my days as a live performer I spent a lot of time at the Hollywood magic ...
