YOUR AUDIENCES

most entertainers are surprised by the people who attended their shows or even bought a T-shirt of the entertainer.as a ventriloquist I never know what the audience look like because I am high up on a light bright stage looking at sammy,it's been many times I have walked off the stage at a comedy club into some odd situations,such as a famous female comedian touching sammy face and sadly saying "I don't have a dummy" or one night almost falling over myself coming off stage seeing comedian Paul Mooney,Paul Mooney was watching my ventriloquist act on stage,let me be clear,he was sitting in the audience! I will never forget meeting Paul Mooney,it was just a quick hello fan star struck thing.your audience are made up of many different types of people that you did not choose,would it be nice if a performer could  choose his or her audience then every performance would be wonderful but you can not choose who can enjoy your act and who can not.let's say that you are a author you don't know who is reading your book every minute,or a singer you do not know who is listening to your song on the radio,or a actor you do not know who are downloading your movie.when I blog on line someone may unfollow me because I wrote something they disliked or they may start to follow my blog because they like something I wrote.The point of this,is this, people need to be entertained,they want to escape.here is my final example,when I was a young boy people would always repeat to me  something sammy said on stage and they enjoyed when sammy would act a fool such as one day I was on the bus in high school and  two girls were saying "oh my god you're the ventriloquist boy, you are good,your dummy is so funny!" I remember that like it happened yesterday,I didn't know those girls never seen them before but they were in my audience.

JUST ADD WATER

I Have a mischievous smile on my face as I write this note to the reader.you may wonder how can being a ventriloquist help you out side showbiz,some of us don't want to be a performer,well just imagine running into your bosses office with your phone in your hand and a voice coming out of the phone saying " help! I falling and I can't get up!" you tell your boss you're leaving work to go save grandma!,now you have a good excuse for leaving work early unless your boss says she's going with you to help grandma,of course the voice that is coming from the phone is you doing the "ventriloquist telephone act" but you can always hang up the phone and do your ventriloquist phone act calling grandma back to say she's o.k...I remember as a teenager doing my ventriloquist telephone act for the first time at the dinner table with my family sitting eating,my lil brother knew about the act but my mother and older brothers really believe the voice was coming out...
