THE ROXY (AUDITION SUITS T-SHIRT AND JEANS)'

some auditions you will always remember,like the one at the roxy,during my night club performing days,I got a audition to perform at the roxy night club even though the roxy is famous for live bands and musicians,sammy and I was seen to audition,I believe it was to open for the bands on stage,I have openers experience,during high school I traveled with a live band and was the band's opener.do bands need a opener,I say yes,a opener is also a band member but I was a ventriloquist not a musician, he or she must attend band rehearsal and know all the band's songs.a opener also is a spy for the band,the opener will give the band info on the audience,such as mood and capacity,the opener will also warm up the audience and most importantly give a clue or code word for the band to start playing the music or get your ass on stage now!for example the band is in the dressing room playing around and the opener is on stage doing a bit in the bit the opener will say a code word like "blue car" when any band member hear the code word,it's serious time to be on stage,awake,alert and ready to start playing the music.my audition at the roxy was in a room with two men wearing suits and one young man wearing a T-shirt and jeans,the two suits were laughing at the skits and bits of sammy and I audition,the t-shirt and jeans was very unemotional,he had nothing,just watching.at the end of the audition the two suits met sammy,the t-shirts and jeans take my business card and said I will call you,but no call from the roxy,I really wanted the roxy gig,I waited and waited,I even wrote some bits and skits ready to go if the roxy called,but it's like giving a girl your phone number and she says she's going to call you and never do,so many many years ago,what a beautiful night club.yeah OUCH! The roxy,I kicked myself for that one,aw! crap! s**t! s**t!.
