in show business a corporate gig is a big deal for a ventriloquist or entertainer.what is a corporate gig? as you travel you will see tall buildings and franchise business and companies such as banks,gas stations,commercial restaurants,etc.I will talk quickly on the subject of corporate shows based on my knowledge and experience.as I see it corporate gigs are the bread and butter for many professional ventriloquist and entertainers,yes it's a lot of money in a corporate gig for a professional ventriloquist/ entertainer and a package deal,such as paid travel,paid room and board,etc.most businesses have events,New year parties,Christmas parties,etc,most corporate businesses hire a food company such as catering service and live entertainment.I suggest that you butter up with a catering company if you are a semi pro ventriloquist as I did,you also need to be legal adult age to do a corporate gig and ride the coattails of a catering service company because they serve some strong achol beverages at these corporate events.how do entertainers get a corporate gig?, from their agent or agency or show business management,but I say to you as the semi pro you also can get that corporate gig by networking.The corporate business management would love to save money by cutting out the middle man but I must say this if you are a semi pro ventriloquist/entertainer and want to get in to corporate world of show business,you better have your shit together,this is serious serious money,and serious business.as a semi pro you competing with the big boys of the corporate world of show business.let me just give you a small example,what a semi pro can get for a corporate gig,$1000 for show up,that is pocket money so that you keep your promise to arrive,it's more like a deposit, next is $5000 for an hour show or they might book you for the whole day/event,paid hotel room,paid round trip travel.yes this is why as a semi pro you must study and practice and rehearsal and have your act together,as you noticed I mentioned a semi pro get paid $5000 for a corporate gig now imagine what a professional ventriloquist/entertainer get paid for a corporate gig.
